WARSAW, March 14 (Xinhua) -- "The New Silk Road on the transcontinental transport corridors' map" was one of most crucial discussion panels during the 11th Europe-Ukraine Forum in Jasionka, southeastern Poland, which concluded Thursday.

Polish Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk is one of the speakers in the panel dedicated to the Belt and Road Initiative. He underlined the importance of creating the communication corridors between Europe and Asia, saying such corridors not only contribute to the development of the B&R Initiative, but most importantly help boost local economies and improve trade and cargo exchange.

"That is the sense in all this - the sense that we perceive the idea of one route, one road," Adamczyk said.

The minister also hoped for using this opportunity to extend the Polish A4 highway to Ukraine.

The highway, according to the minister, is of huge interest to countries such as Belarus, Ukraine, as well as the countries of Central Asia. Adamczyk reminded that such communication corridors, a part of Belt and Road initiative, are already being carried out.

The Belt and Road Initiative, proposed by China in 2013, aims to build trade and infrastructure networks connecting Asia with Europe and Africa based on ancient land and maritime trade routes.

The two-day meeting in Jasionka has seen 300 speakers and more than 40 panel debates devoted to economic, political and social issues. The forum was accompanied by the 2nd Eastern Fair, attended by over 70 exhibitors from IT, financial, construction, motor, tourism and many other sectors.
