JAKARTA, April 4 (Xinhua) -- The government of Indonesia has completed construction of the biggest equestrian facility which will be used for horse riders to vie in the Asian Games this year.
Situated at a 30 hectare of land in the country's capital, this facility will be the first horse riding venue at the international level in Indonesia, said Arsalna Adamarchi, project director.
"This equestrian facility is categorized as international level and we have to comply with several standards," he said.
The director revealed that the venue has scores of supporting facilities including an equine clinic, isolated horse stables, X-ray facilities and blood test facilities.
Everything is expected to be completed in May of this year, he added on Tuesday evening.
Equestrian sports first made an appearance at the 9th Asian Games in 1982 held in New Delhi, followed by Seoul in 1986.
The 18th Asian Games are scheduled to be held in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and Palembang, the provincial capital of South Sumatra province from August 18 to September 2.
