BANGKOK, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Hua Hin airport in southern Thailand has been ready for the first passenger flight from Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur on upcoming Friday, said airport director Aphisit Ubonkomut Monday.
Hua Hin airport, about 200 km south of Bangkok, is scheduled to welcome the inaugural flight of Malaysia's low-cost carrier AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
AirAsia's Airbus A320 airliner is scheduled to leave Kuala Lumpur for Hua Hin in a one-hour flight carrying 150 passengers and crewmembers.
Given Hua Hin-Kuala Lumpur air travels, an increased number of Malaysian tourists are expected to visit the world's renowned seaside resort and nearby spots, the airport director said.
