ULAN BATOR, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia on Tuesday celebrated "Day to Honor National Flag", a festival aimed at strengthening national unity.
"We are celebrating the day in order to bring this tradition to the next generation and strengthen our national unity," Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga said at the ceremony marking the occasion.
Also attending the celebration at the square in central Ulan Bator were Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, Parliament Speaker Miyegombo Enkhbold, other cabinet ministers, military veterans, as well as thousands of citizens.
The celebrations featured a military parade involving over 2,000 military personnel.
The "Day to Honor National Flag" has been celebrated every year since 2009 on July 10, one day before the traditional Naddam festival kicks off.
