TOKYO, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar climbed to the mid-113 yen zone Thursday in Tokyo after the Bank of Japan (BOJ) decided to maintain its ultra-easy, aggressive monetary policy during a two-day policy meeting.
At 5:00 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 113.57-59 yen compared with 113.33-43 yen in New York and 113.13-14 yen in Tokyo at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. It moved between 113.11 yen and 113.60 yen during the day.
The euro fetched 1.1872-1873 dollars and 134.83-87 yen against 1.1866-1876 dollars and 134.56-66 yen in New York and 1.1841-1842 dollars and 133.96-134.00 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
