ATHENS, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- A Greek Air Force training plane crashed Wednesday on the outskirts of Kalamata city, southern Greece, according to the Greek Defense Ministry.

The two pilots on board evacuated the plane in time and were transferred in good health to a nearby hospital for further examination.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
