TEHRAN, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- An Iranian judiciary official said Wednesday that a European national who had links to the recent unrests in the country has been arrested by the Iranian security forces.
The chief of Justice House of Boroujerd city in western Lorestan Province said that the unnamed European national was detained in Boroujerd, according to Tasnim news agency.
"This person who played the role of a leader in the riots had been trained by European Intelligence services and had been sent to Boroujerd to guide riots," Hamid Reza Bolhassani told Tasnim.
Over the past week, protests erupted in a number of Iranian cities against the government's economic policies.
