OSAKA, Japan, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- A delegation from Shanghai introduced here on Tuesday the city's investment environment as well as the China International Import Expo (CIIE) slated to be held in Shanghai from Nov. 5 to 10 this year.
Shang Yuying, chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, said that the CIIE, cohosted by China's Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, is a significant move by the Chinese government to firmly support trade liberalization and economic globalization and to actively open the market to the world.
She said that the CIIE would provide a new platform as well as new opportunities for Japanese enterprises to further explore the Chinese market and share the development fruit of China as well as of Shanghai.
Takashi Asada, representative of the board of directors of Japan-China Economic Relations and Trade Center, said that China is the second largest economy in the world as well as a major importer and consumer, and that the CIIE would provide great business opportunities for enterprises from all over the world as well as from Japan.
The delegation also answered questions from the audience about Shanghai's policies on foreign investment, cross-border e-commerce and Shanghai Free-Trade Zone among others.
