ISLAMABAD, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and 15 others injured in a fatal road crash in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Tuesday, local Urdu TV channel reported.
According to local police, a speeding truck and a passenger bus coming from opposite sides collided near the Northern Bypass area in Karachi, killing four people on the spot and injuring 16 others. One of the injured succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
Police and eyewitnesses said that the bus skidded off the road after the accident, adding that children and women were among the injured.
The ill-fated bus was going to the country's southern Larkana city from Karachi, the capital city of the country's southern Sindh province.
Police said that the crash occurred due to over-speeding, and the driver of the truck fled the site following the accident.
