DOHA, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Qatar strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place in Afghanistan's Jalalabad Wednesday, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported Thursday.
In a statement, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the country's firm stance on the rejection of violence and terrorism, regardless of its motives and reasons.
Qatar also expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, the government and the people of Afghanistan, the statement said.
On Wednesday, a suicide bomber detonated his car outside the offices of a foreign charity in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad, killing at least five people and wounding dozens of others.
The Islamic State, which has a presence in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar, of which Jalalabad is the capital, has claimed responsibility for the attack.?
