DHAKA, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi 21st presidential election will be held on Feb. 18 as the five-year tenure of the incumbent President Abdul Hamid expires on April 23, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said Thursday.
According to Article 123 of the constitution, the presidential election should be held between 90 and 60 days before the five-year term of the president expires. In line with the polls schedule, the aspirants will have to submit their nomination papers on Feb. 5 and the deadline for withdrawal of the nomination papers has been set on Feb. 10.
