WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Pacific Division All-Stars defeated the Atlantic Division 5-2 in the final of the 2018 NHL All-Star Game on Sunday.
The 11 players from the Pacific will split the 1 million US dollars prize. They also won 5-2 against the Central Division in the semifinal. In the other semifinal earlier on Sunday, the Atlantic Division got past the Metropolitan Division 7-4.
Vancouver Canucks rookie forward Brock Boeser was named most valuable player of the All-Star Game. He had a goal and an assist in the final for the Pacific and scored the game-winning goal against the Central.
Anaheim Ducks forward Rickard Rakell had two goals and an assist for the Pacific. Los Angeles Kings player Drew Doughty, Boeser and Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau each had a goal. Detroit Red Wings defenseman Mike Green scored two goals for the Atlantic in the final.
"Some of the prize money will go back to the team, my teammates back in L.A. I'm sure we'll do something to get that back to them, whether it's going out to dinner or having a team party. Our teammates helped us get here. We wouldn't be here without them so we've got to give back to them," said Doughty after the game. Enditem
