PARIS, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- France asked its nationals, notably journalists, to avoid going to Afghanistan where the security situation "remains of particular concern", the foreign ministry said Thursday in a statement.
The foreign ministry classified the entire Afghan territory, including Kabul, as a "red zone" and called on French citizen to avoid going there.
The ministry "recalls that the deterioration of the security situation in Afghanistan poses serious risks for journalists who work there".
A new wave of violence has rocked Afghanistan with deadly terrorist attacks, claimed by the Taliban, striking the capital Kabul in recent weeks.
