BELGRADE, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Serbian Red Star won a tough match against Italian Armani on Friday in the 22nd round of the basketball Euroleague by 100-89.
At the Aleksandar Nikolic hall in front of some 5,000 spectators, Red Star started the game with more motivation and came out better from the first half with a three-point lead by 23-20, which it continued to build in the second half.
The result at the halftime was 50-45 for Red Star, which led by double digits during the second quarter.
The two teams played an even third quarter that ended with the score by 21-20, as Red Star entered the fourth quarter with a six-point lead.
The Serbian team finally separated from the opponent in the last quarter when they increased the lead to 11 points, and won the match.
Best in the home team were Mathias Lessort who scored 15 points and added ten rebounds, while Jankovic Stefan 15 points, Rochestie Taylor 14 points and 9 assists.
Mindaugas Kuzimskas scored 17 points for Armani. Enditem
