QUITO, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Second-seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas set up an all-Spanish Ecuador Open final by defeating Brazilian Thiago Monteiro 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 here on Saturday.
"It was a very competitive match and I think we both played well," Ramos-Vinolas said after the the semi, "I′m really happy to be playing in the final of this great tournament for the first time."
Earlier, qualifier Roberto Carballes-Baena advanced to his maiden ATP decider by overcoming Andrej Martin of Slovakia 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Ramos-Vinolas will be contesting his sixth tour final - the fifth on clay - on Sunday as he seeks a second career title.
Ramos-Vinolas has won both of his previous meetings with Carballes-Baena on the ATP circuit.
