KUWAIT CITY, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian affirmed Tuesday his country's commitment and support to Iraq until the country revives and prospers.
He made the remarks at conference on investment in Iraq, which kicked off Tuesday in Kuwait, noting that France will stand by Iraq just like it did during its fight against terrorism.
Pointing out the hugeness and difficulties in Iraqi rebuilding process, he voiced optimism with Iraq's ability to recover and improve due to its immense resources and human capabilities.
He believed that Iraq can stand on its feet, achieve national reconciliation and begin the reconstruction process, stressing a comprehensive reconstruction process should not neglect any populated area in the country.
The minister said that France would meet all requirements by standing with Iraq, as well as providing soft loans, adding that France will contribute to supporting infrastructure, especially in the field of energy and water.
The conference on investment in Iraq is one of events comprising the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI), which kicked off Monday in Kuwait City.
