RABAT, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- the Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reaffirmed Wednesday the kingdom's unwavering support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq, the Moroccan official MAP news agency reported.
Morocco congratulates Iraq for its "great victory" in its war against the Islamic States terrorist organization and hopes that "this success constitutes the prelude to the definitive eradication of this scourge in the region," MAP quoted the minister as saying at the ministerial meeting of the international conference for the reconstruction of Iraq in Kuwait.
Bourita underlined that Morocco "commends the spirit of national unity shown by the Iraqis in their war against this criminal organization, one of the decisive factors of this victory, and reiterates its constant support for the Iraqi government's efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and inclusive development of all the people of Iraq."
He also hailed "Iraq's resistance during this painful phase, marked in particular by the savage destruction of the environment, public and private property, historical monuments and symbols of the human and civil heritage."
The minister pointed out that Morocco's participation in this international conference testifies to its constant support for Iraq, and its sincere willingness to back this country in its efforts to fight terrorism and start reconstruction, putting at its disposal the expertise accumulated by Morocco in the fields of construction, urban planning and services.
