TEHRAN, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Iran defeated Russia in straight sets to win the World Super 6 sitting volleyball tournament in Tabriz, a city in northwestern Iran.
Having gone through its five pool matches undefeated, the Paralympic champion capped off its tournament with another victory at the Sadra Sports Hall.
Iran overpowered Russia 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 28-26) in the final match on Tuesday.
"I am satisfied with our performance in the competition. I am also glad about discovering new talented players in the event. I think the future is bright for Iran's sitting volleyball," Iran coach Hadi Rezaei said.
In the bronze medal match, Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Ukraine 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-20).
Germany finished fifth after overcoming the United States 25-18, 31-29, 23-25, 25-19 in a play-off.
