MACAO, April 27 (Xinhua) -- A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Sao Tome and Principe on tourism cooperation on Friday, according to Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
The MOU was signed by the director of the MGTO Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, and Mirian Solange Barroso Daio, Director General of Tourism and Hospitality, Ministry of Finance, Commerce and Blue Economy of Sao Tome and Principe.
It aimed at exchanging information on the tourism sector, sharing experience, assisting travel agencies and hotels in organizing promotional activities, as well as training and skill development of technical professionals in the tourism fields.
Macao has signed memoranda of understanding on cooperation in tourism with five Portuguese-speaking countries, including Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, East Timor and Angola. In addition, it has signed a protocol on cooperation in tourism with Portugal.
