TOKYO, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday as Wall Street's overnight advance incentivized investors here.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 65.04 points, or 0.29 percent, from Monday to 22,540.98.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 1.40 points, or 0.08 percent, at 1,776.09.
Miscellaneous product, precision instrument and nonferrous metal-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
