Another encounter in the evening saw Tandara Caixeta got 19 points to lift Brazil over China 3-2 (19-25, 25-23, 27-25, 10-25, 16-14).
Apart from wing spiker Caixeta's heroic performance, middle blocker Adenizia Da Silva secured 14 points including seven blocks, and wing spiker Amanda Francisco added 13 points for Brazil.
