TOKYO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Friday as investors opted to secure profits following the benchmark Nikkei stock index's recent run of four-day closing highs.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost.17 points, or 0.31 percent, from Thursday to 22,753.09.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 2.44 points, or 0.14 percent, at 1,786.57.
Real estate, pulp and paper, and bank-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
