BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel Tuesday in Beijing.
Yang, also director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, said that China will take Chinese President Xi Jinping's speech earlier in the day as the guidance to strengthen ties between China and the Arab states.
Xi spoke at the opening of the eighth ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum on Tuesday morning, announcing that the two sides had agreed to establish a "future-oriented strategic partnership of comprehensive cooperation and common development."
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Algeria.
Hailing the traditional friendship between the two countries, Yang called on the two sides to enhance political mutual trust, deepen all-round cooperation and strengthen communication and coordination on international and regional affairs.
Messahel pledged to deepen all-round exchanges and cooperation between Algeria and China.
