ATHENS, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- A passenger airplane flying from Egypt to Germany made an emergency landing on Greece's Crete island on Thursday amid a bomb alert, local media reported.
All 281 people on board have disembarked safely and no injuries were reported. Authorities were investigating the aircraft at a remote part of Chania airport, according to Greek news agency AMNA.
The Boeing 753 of Condor airlines had departed from Hurghada to Dusseldorf.
According to local newspaper "Proto Thema" (Top Story), the alert was triggered by a note found in the toilet with the word "bomb" written on it. The plane was escorted to the Greek airport by two Greek Air Force jets.
A squad of bomb disposal experts with sniffer dogs was on site to investigate the case, according to AMNA.
