NEW DELHI, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and 10 others injured after their cab skidded off a mountain road and rolled down a gorge in northern Indian state of Uttarakhand Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred on a highway in the state's Tehri district.
"The cab carrying 12 people plunged into a deep gorge after its driver lost control of the vehicle. Two died on the spot while the injured have been hospitalized," a police official said.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, he added.
Road accidents occur in India mostly due to poor driving or badly maintained roads and vehicles.
