BUDAPEST, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Hungary beat Greece 2-1 here on Tuesday night in the Groupama Arena in the UEFA Nations League Group 2.
The Greek team started the match stronger. During the first two minutes, the ball did not even leave the Hungarian side due to the continuous attacks of the Greeks.
In the 10th minute of the game, the Greek player Fortunis shot from 17 meters, and barely missed the right side of the goal.
But in the 13th minute, Sallai from Hungary scored with his left foot, Hungary lead 1-0.
The joy of the Hungarians did not last long, as five minutes later, Manolas from the Greek team equalized the score 1-1 thanks to a header.
The pressure on the Hungarian team was enormous, but it was the Hungarian team who scored again thanks to Kleinheisler in the 42nd minute, from 20 meters, on a pass from teammate Kovacs.
In the second half, the Greek team quickened the pace, and tried to overwhelm the Hungarians but in vain. Two yellow cards were handed out, one to Hungarian Sallai in the 50th minute, and one to the Greek Ikonomu in the 77th.
Although the Greeks dominated the game, and kept the ball for the most part of the game, the Hungarians walked away with three points.
