JAKARTA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Monday welcomed a senate delegation from the Czech Republic at the State Palace, pledging to bring bilateral ties to a higher level.
Widodo and the Czech delegates discussed the possibility of strengthening cooperation in various fields in the future.
"I have committed to advancing cooperation with the Czech Republic in several fields, particularly trade and industry," Widodo said after the meeting.
Deputy Foreign Minister A.M. Fachir, who also attended the meeting, said that Widodo asked the Czech Republic to support Indonesia's crude palm oil export to Europe and help accelerate free trade talks between Indonesia and European Union.
The Czech delegates, led by President Milan Stech, said the two countries could also cooperate in hydro power and automotive sectors, Fachir added.
Indonesia is the world's largest producer and exporter of crude palm oil.
