SHANGHAI, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The 18th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition will be held from April 18 to 25 next year, according to organizers of the event.
The auto show will have showrooms with their combined floor space expected to exceed 360,000 square meters, and will draw the "latest car models with the latest science and technology" from around the world, showing China's status as one of the most vigorous markets with huge potential, said the organizers.
The organizers hoped that the show would not only showcase the achievements of innovation and development by the world's auto industry, but also advance integration of motor vehicles and advanced manufacturing, telecommunication, the internet, big data and artificial intelligence.
China is the world's biggest automobile market. In 2017, China produced more than 29 million vehicles and sold 28.88 million, up 3.2 percent and 3 percent, respectively, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
