RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Former Arsenal midfielder Denilson has signed a deal to play with Brazilian Serie B club Botafogo de Ribeirao Preto next season.
The 30-year-old agreed to a one-year contract after parting ways with United Arab Emirates outfit Al-Wahda.
"Botafogo de Ribeirao Preto is a club with 100 years of tradition that is starting a new chapter in its history," Denilson said in a club statement. "I'm happy to be a part of this project and I'm going to do my best to make our fans proud."
A former Brazil under-17 and under-20 captain, Denilson made 153 appearances for Arsenal between 2006 and 2013.
He joined the London club from Sao Paulo, with which he won the 2005 FIFA Club World Cup.
