TIRANA, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Albanian General Director of State Police Ardi Veliu and Permanent Secretary at Britain's Home Office Philip Rutnam in a meeting on Friday agreed to further step up bilateral cooperation in fighting against organized crime, money laundering, illegal trafficking, cyber-crime and terrorism.
Veliu held a meeting with a delegation of Britain's Home Office chaired by Rutnam.
"The cooperation with the United Kingdom is very important for the State Police. Timely exchange of information by removing some bureaucratic barriers is vital to the fight against organized crime, economic and financial crime and terrorism," said Veliu.
According to Veliu, the Albanian State Police is determined to fight organized crime and seize all assets and bank accounts that have profited from criminal activity.
Meanwhile, Rutnam declared that he appreciated the results of the Albanian State Police in general, especially recently, in terms of a crackdown on crime.
"We will support Albanian police with logistics and training and technical assistance," said Rutnam.
