BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- A major exhibition opened in Beijing on Tuesday to commemorate the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up.
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, announced the opening of the exhibition at the National Museum of China on Tuesday morning.
Noting the unprecedented changes that have taken place over the past four decades, especially the historic changes after the 18th CPC National Congress, Wang said the exhibition aims to show the great achievements Chinese people have made under the CPC leadership on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
He called for efforts to rally more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, hold high the banner of reform and opening-up in the new era and deepen the reform and opening-up with greater confidence and stronger measures.
The exhibition uses historical photos, texts, videos, miniature models and interactive activities to show visitors the great process during which the Chinese nation has stood up, grown rich and is becoming strong.
Around 1,000 people attended the opening ceremony.
