MAZAR-E-SHARIF, Afghanistan, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- At least six militants have been killed and 10 others wounded as clashes erupted in Afghan northern Balkh province, an army spokesman said Monday.
The clashes, according to Ghulam Hazrat Karimi, erupted after the government forces stormed Taliban hideouts in Zekzak area of Char Bolak district Sunday evening and so far six militants have been killed.
Ten militants and a security man have been wounded in the fighting, the official added.
Taliban militants have not commented yet.
