JERUSALEM, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- El Al Airline, Israel's leading carrier, will operate direct flights between Israel and Las Vegas of the United States for the first time, the company announced on Monday.
The new route from Ben Gurion Airport to the American gambling "Sin City" will start operating in June 2019.
The round-trip price will start at 787 U.S. dollars. The flights will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Flights to Las Vegas will be operated once a week, leaving on Fridays at 7:00 a.m. local time, and departures from Las Vegas will be on Saturdays at 10:45 p.m.
Flight duration ranges from 11 to 13 hours, according to the airline.
Upon opening the route, El Al will receive a quarter million euros (285,000 dollars) grant from the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
Israeli Minister of Tourism, Yariv Levin, said that "the new route will contribute to incoming tourism from surrounding areas such as the states of Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Oregon, and to the Christian tourists coming from the region."
