LONDON, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 2.27 percent, or 149.29 points, to close at 6,733.97 points.
British American Tobacco, a tobacco group, soared 4.32 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. John Wood Group and Legal & General Group increased by 4.29 percent and 4.16 percent respectively.
