MACAO, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- The visitors on package tours in China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) totalled 908,000 in November 2018, up by 16.5 percent month-to-month, but down slightly by 0.9 percent year-on-year, the SAR's statistics bureau said.
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) also indicated that the package tour visitors from the Chinese mainland (721,000) dropped by 4.1 percent year-on-year.
Outbound residents using services of travel agencies grew by 11.8 percent year-on-year to 139,000. Number of residents travelling on package tours totalled 46,000.
There were 116 hotels and guesthouses operating at the end of November 2018, an increase of 6 year-on-year. Number of guest rooms grew by 5.8 percent year-on-year to 39,000, with 5-star hotel rooms rising by 9.7 percent to 25,000 (63.1 percent of total).
In the first 11 months of 2018, the average occupancy rate of hotels and guesthouses rose 4.1 percentage points to 90.7 percent, and the average length of stay of guests stayed at 1.5 nights.
