TRIPOLI, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Libyan Interior Ministry revealed on Saturday that 168 people were killed in traffic accidents in the capital Tripoli in 2018.
In addition, 331 were wounded and 847 vehicles damaged as a result of traffic accidents, the ministry said.
Traffic accidents in Libya are mainly caused by poor infrastructure and violations of driving regulations, particularly speeding.
Oil-rich Libya is suffering from security chaos and a political division between eastern and western governments, both competing for legitimacy.
