DHAKA, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Bangladeshi Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Tuesday inaugurated the fortnight traffic discipline program in capital Dhaka.
The traffic program initiated by Dhaka Metropolitan Police will hold a host of awareness functions to stimulate mainly community involvement in promoting road safety awareness, disseminating information about traffic rules and encouraging specially people to use foot over-bridges.
The government has decided to involve students as volunteers in the fortnight traffic discipline program to boost law enforcers' efforts in establishing road disciplines.
In wake of rising road accidents in the country, demand for safe road from various sections of society got louder in the recent months.
