KIGALI, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Rwandan government on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack at an upmarket business complex in Kenyan capital city Nairobi that claimed 14 lives.
Rwanda extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families, those injured in the attack, and stands united with them as well as the Kenyan government during this time of grief, the Rwandan foreign ministry said in a statement.
The Rwandan government will continue to stand firmly with Kenya in its fight against terrorism, said the statement.
Al-Shabab militants on Tuesday stormed the 14 Riverside Drive located in Nairobi's Westlands area and held office workers and hotel guests hostage.
The siege that lasted about 18 hours ended on Wednesday morning after Kenya's elite security forces neutralized the assailants.
