LONDON, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Britain's employment rate was estimated at 75.8 percent from September to November 2018, hitting the highest level since comparable estimates began in 1971, according to figures published Tuesday by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The survey showed that the labor force was an estimated 32.53 million people in the three months to the end of November, 141,000 more than from June to August 2018 and 328,000 more than one year earlier.
The number of unemployed in this period was estimated at 1.37 million people, little changed compared with June to August 2018 but 68,000 fewer than a year earlier.
The unemployment rate was estimated at 4.0 percent, suggesting a robust labor market despite Brexit uncertainty.
