AMMAN, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Pan Weifang Thursday said Jordanian-Chinese ties have witnessed a key development in 2008, reflecting the strategic partnership between the two countries.
In a speech during a celebration to mark the Chinese New Year, which falls on Feb. 5 this year, he said Sino-Jordanian ties are growing rapidly in various arenas, especially in fields of culture, energy, education, commerce and investments.
The celebration was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Jordan and the Chinese Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
The ambassador added that next year's celebration of the Spring Festival will be held in the Chinese cultural center, which is currently under construction.
Jordanian Culture Ministry Assistant Secretary General Mohammad Al Rashed said the celebration of the occasion is a reflection of development of ties between the two countries.
A photo exhibition was held on the sidelines of the celebration, highlighting aspects of the Chinese lifestyle and culture.
Several traditional dances were performed by artists from China during the event.
