SARI PUL, Afghanistan, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Militants loyal to the Taliban militant group have fired bullets on a playground in northern Afghanistan's Sari Pul province, killing two people and wounding four others, a local official said on Friday.
The incident happened in the Sayyad district's township of the province late on Thursday, where the Taliban militants targeted a number of football-players, killing at least two people, including a security troop and wounding four others including two policemen, Sayyed Asadullah Danish, an official of provincial council, told Xinhua.
The motive behind the attack remained unknown but such incident happened in the past when militants targeted playgrounds and local sport stadiums.
Taliban militants have not still confirmed the report.
