DHAKA, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Thirteen laborers were killed and two others injured when a coal-laden truck veered off road and ploughed through a brickfield mess in Bangladesh's Cumilla district, some 96 km east of Dhaka, on Friday morning, a police official said.
Abdullah Al Mahfuz, officer-in-charge of Cumilla's Chauddagram police station, said the accident took place after the driver of the coal-laden truck lost control over the steering and the truck skidded off the road at about 7:00 a.m. local time.
"Thirteen workers of the brickfield died on the spot," he said.
He said two more workers were rushed to Cumilla Medical College and Hospital with serious injuries.
