JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- At least two militants affiliated with the Islamic State group were killed as unmanned planes targeted the armed outfit hideout in Khogiani district of the eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday, said an army statement released here Monday.
The strikes, conducted on tip-off, struck the IS hideout in Wazirutangi area on Sunday afternoon, killing two insurgents on the spot and injuring a few others.
No casualties on civilians have been reported, the statement added.
The government forces will continue to target the armed insurgents elsewhere in the country, the statement asserted.
IS outfit has yet to make comments.
