CHENGDU, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- A forest fire that lasted for two days in southwest China's Sichuan Province has been put out, local authorities said Tuesday.
The fire broke out early Sunday morning in Muli County in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.
So far, there have been no reports concerning casualties or damage to facilities, but the cause of the fire is under investigation.
At its peak of 3,500 meters above sea level, the fire spread across about 20 hectares of forest. More than 1,500 firefighters and local residents joined the fire-fighting task.
The provincial fire department said that six forest fires had been extinguished during the week-long Spring Festival holiday.
