TIRANA, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Albania registered a drop by 22.4 percent in the number of road accidents in January this year compared with the same period last year, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported on Thursday.
According to the official statistics of the INSTAT, in January Albania registered a total of 104 road accidents, down from 134 that occurred in January 2018.
The number of casualties in January amounted to 153, down 12.6 percent from 175 people in the previous year.
Meanwhile, 86.5 percent of road accidents in January this year occurred as a result of driver's behavior. The highest number of accidents in this period was due to careless drivers aged 25-35, accounting for 28.8 percent of the total accidents. Enditem
