JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- A total of five militants affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) group were confirmed dead after unmanned planes struck their hideout in Khogiani district of Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, provincial government spokesman Ataullah Khogiani said Tuesday.
The aerial strikes, launched on a tip off in Miagano area on Monday afternoon, killed five armed militants on the spot and destroyed their hideout.
IS outfit has yet to make comment.
