CAIRO, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Egypt on Wednesday warned against the attempts to marginalize the Palestinian cause, reaffirming its continued support for the Palestinians to restore their legitimate rights.
Khaled Radi, head of the Palestinian directorate at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, said the Palestinians seek to achieve their legitimate rights of establishing an independent state despite "huge challenges."
He made the remarks at the opening of an annual meeting of the board of trustees of Yasser Arafat Foundation named after the Palestinian late former president.
Radi also highlighted Egypt's consistent keenness to reach comprehensive and just peace as the only way for peace and development.
Meanwhile, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit pointed out the inequality in the Israeli-Palestinian struggle which has existed from the beginning.
Israel is practising occupation with support of international military force while the Palestinian side has no other means but to preserve its existence, Aboul-Gheit noted.
