JAKARTA, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's men's water polo team has set a target of one gold medal in the forthcoming SEA Games in the Philippines later this year, coach Dean Baldwin said on Tuesday.
Baldwin said that the target was made based on the achievements of the team since 2011.
To reach the goal, the coach said training must focus on improving the speed, fitness and endurance of the competitors.
A match against one of the strongest teams in Japan would also take place this month in order to assess the players' progress and conduct further evaluation, he added.
"For the last month and a half, we have been training to face the strong team from Japan," said Baldwin at the aquatic sport facility in Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno stadium.
After facing the Japanese team, the Indonesian squad will take part in a tournament in Europe from May to July, he added.
