MUMBAI, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Six persons including a forest officer were injured after a leopard attacked them on Sunday afternoon in Nashik district of India's Maharashtra state, media reported on Monday.
Conditions of the five villagers and the forest officer were said to be stable after they were admitted to hospital for treatment.
A rescue team has been deployed by the forest office to safely capture the leopard.
In February, a leopard was seen at a shopping mall in Thane city of Maharashtra, who was later tranquilized and taken to safety by the forest officials.
