BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Three major museums in Beijing, including the Palace Museum and the National Museum of China, will take part in an exhibition held at a cultural festival in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei Province, in April.
The museums will display cultural relics and creative cultural products at the festival, which is scheduled from April 26 to 28, the Beijing Daily reported.
Performances will also be staged at the festival to showcase intangible cultural heritage of Xiong'an, according to the newspaper.
China announced plans to establish Xiong'an New Area in April 2017. Located some 100 kilometers southwest of downtown Beijing, Xiong'an New Area mostly covers Xiongxian, Rongcheng and Anxin counties in Hebei.
Xiongxian, where the exhibition will be held, is known for its complex network of underpasses from around 1,000 years ago. It also has a centuries-long history of antique collection and trade.
